King Pine Ski Area and Sound Resort of North Conway have joined forces to bring you a very unique event for the 2009/10 season. It's the Sound Resort Mobile Phone Scavenger Hunt - beginning Sunday, December 27. This is the first of 3 scavenger events for the season at King Pine. Additional dates are Sunday, January 31 and Sunday, February 28th.
Here's how it works:
Registration will take place at 10AM in the King Pine base lodge. Teams, made up of 2 skiers/snowboarders, will receive a list of items to photograph with their cell phones around the mountain. Each item will be rated with a point scale according to the level of difficulty in finding each item.
Once an item has been photographed with a teams cell phone, the photo will need to be uploaded to pics@kingpine.com. Each picture message will need to have the teams' name in the "Subject" line. Each team will have until 1pm to send in photos.
Note:
Cell service is available for all phone service companies however signals may be sporadic at the base of King Pine. The summit of the mountain will be the best place to send photos.
Photo rules:
- Each pic must have at least one teammate in it
- Each pic must have a King Pine logo within it
- King Pine stickers will be given out at registration
- Only one cell phone may be used per team
All appropriate photos will be tallied and uploaded to www.kingpine.com/scavengerhunt and shown at the awards ceremony which will take place at 1:30 in the King Pine base lodge.
Bonus Points:
The list will contain a special code to send a text message to. This text will generate an auto-response that will give you 3 additional items that will be worth 5 points each.
Additional Rules:
- Once a photo has been used for one event it cannot be used for another
- Teams must be made up of 2 skiers or snowboarders
- All teammates must have valid King Pine lift tickets
- Pictures can only be sent from one cellphone (must register that phone)
- Please do not text and ski!
Prizes:
The winning team will be the one with the most points! Any ties will be broken by "time stamps" on emails received.
