Mark your calendar for Sunday, October 1, 2017 for the NEW King Pine CX, a family- friendly and spectator friendly event serving up delicious food and drinks.

Cyclocross, Kids Race, Duathlon and 5K

 

Prizes include cash, merchandise and bragging rights, register before July 1 and save! Kids 14 and under race FREE!

  • Call ups will be in order of bib, which is in order of registration date. The earlier you register, the better pole position.

 

Categories and Schedule of Events:

  • 9:00 a.m. Cat 4 and 5 Public Men - 30 minutes
  • 9:45 a.m. Cat 4 and 5 Public Woman - 30 minutes
  • 10:30 a.m. Master Men 40 + Cat 1,2,3,4  - 40 minutes
  • 11:20 a.m. 5K Run (Duathlon with 12:00 p.m. CX start, combined time)
  • 12:00 p.m. Open CX (no lap rules) Costume ride, MTB, Fat Bike, Single Speed, any bike works - 20 minutes
  • 12:10 p.m. Kids Course
  • 12:25 p.m. Junior Boys/Girls ages 9-14, 15-17 (short course) - 20 minutes
  • 1:00 p.m. Cat 3/4 Woman - 40 minutes
  • 2:00 p.m. Cat 3/4 Men - 40 minutes
  • 3:00 p.m. Cat 1,2,3 Woman - 50 minutes
  • 4:00 p.m. Cat 1,2,3 Men - 60 minutes

Awards will be given out directly after each race at the King Pine Podium.

 

Weekend Warrior: Deer Farm CX and King Pine CX Team Up!

 

The King Pine CX is back to back with Applegate Deer Farm Event on Saturday, September 29th, 2017 in West Newfield, ME.

 

Register for Deer Farm CX and race the next day at King Pine CX for 30% off your first race!  All additional races are $10.  Both days are family friendly, with a kids play zone, lawn games and a separate kids race course.
 

 

 

King Pine CX Course

 

Course Specifics:  

  • Course length 1.7 miles or 2.7 km.
  • 130 feet of climbing each lap.
  • Slight up hill for the first 50 meters of the start, then down/flat for 200 meters.
  • One step rock run up at .5 mile.
  • Open, wide, fun, smooth for the first .6 mile.
  • Short, steep run up at .7 mile.
  • Four down switchbacks at .8 - .9 mile.
  • Sand pit at 1.1 mile.
  • Set of barriers at 1.2 mile.
  • Climb for .2 with 85' of gain between 1.2 and 1.4 mile.
  • Fast and switchback descending to lap/finish.
