Enjoy the classic experience of riding among surrounding fields and within wooded trails in a horse-driven sleigh. A unique winter fun outing for families and friends of all ages, in addition to the approximate 15-20 minute ride in the sleigh, we invite you to warm yourself by an outdoor fire before and after your ride, enjoy provided hot cocoa and listen to traditional tales and stories told by a recognized local storyteller.
Where: Rides begin and end at the nearby Laura Foundation facilities and barn located just approximately 1 mile south of King PIne and Purity Spring Resort on Route 153.
Rental skates are available at the King Pine Rental & Tune Shop.
Conveniently located just across the street from the King Pine base lodge, The Tohko Dome skating rink opens at 8:30 a.m. daily. In the evening, the Tohko Dome is well-lit and remains open through 9:30 p.m. midweek and 10:30 p.m. on weekends and vacation periods. Afterhours, rentals can be returned to the Tavern at King Pine or the main desk at Purity Spring. Rules are posted at the rink. Ice hockey is prohibited.
Explore the quiet forests around Purity Spring Resort. Enjoy an easy winter hike through our extensive trail network or explore the on-site NH Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary. Snowshoeing at King Pine and Purity Spring Resort on backcountry trails is no cost, however a trail pass is required for our groomed trail network. Access to our groomed snowshoe trail network is included with every lift ticket (valid for date on ticket) or see the rates page for available Snowshoe trail pass. Snowshoe rentals are available at the King Pine Rental & Tune Shop.
During the winter months, guided snowshoe tours will be available on Saturdays at 2 p.m. (weather permitting) and are $12 per person ($20 with snowshoe rentals). Interested participants are asked to sign-up and meet at The Mill Indoor Pool & Fitness Center across from the Purity Spring Main Office at least 30 minutes before the start of the tour. (Please note, if rental equipment is needed, please allow yourself enough time go to our rental tune shop located in the King Pine base lodge well prior to the time you need to meet at The Mill before the start of the tour)
Moonlight Tours - As the winter moon rises, experience one of our guided moonlight snowshoe tours through NH Audubon's Hoyt Wildlife Sanctuary at Purity Spring Resort. Take in the tall pines and soft woodland sounds with views of King Pine Ski Area in the distance as you experience the serene trails along Purity Lake.
