LAST UPDATED: Thursday, January 28 | 6:45 a.m.
COMMENTS: Another overnight dusting of snow and a fresh groom are going to make your Thursday a fine one indeed! We're skiing and riding on 15 trails, all groomed overnight, and you can expect machine-groomed, packed-powder corduroy. Five lifts are scheduled today from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. (Black Bear closes 4 p.m.) Please note, we are hosting local high school racing today and White Pine and King Pine trails will be open to racers and race workers only for extended periods. Our snowmaking team wrapped up a multi-night effort of burying 2 remaining trails (Pitch Pine & Pine Brule) currently closed, built up base depths on additional trails and also provided snow for us to build our terrain park this week, but now our groomers are working daily to blade out piles of snow to try and get us to having all trails open by this weekend.
The Purity Spring Resort XC & Snowshoe Reserve Nordic trails have a bit of fresh natural snow on them, but have not been groomed recently and today’s conditions remain firm, variable snow. Skiers should remain cautious for areas of thin cover and water crossing trails remain closed. Conditions again are good for Fat Biking early, but temps are set to go above freezing, so please be considerate if your tires start to track too deep. The ice is nice and the Tohko Dome Ice Skating rink is now open daily until 9 p.m., but skating tickets/rentals available during regular operating hours only.
IMPORTANT: view, read and understand current COVID operating information to understand your responsibilities and requirements. Keep face coverings on at all times outdoors upon arriving and also indoors unless seated actively eating/drinking. Please understand all base lodge access limitations including no storage in base lodge for bags/items and only food & beverages purchased here allowed (no "brown bagging" your own food inside). You will want to continue to refer to this information before every visit you plan to make this season so that you are aware of the latest updates. We recommend you "know before you go" because the industry needs you to be the reason we continue to have a ski season...ski well, be well and stay kind.
King Pine Ski School: Private lessons are available daily and beginner group lesson programs are available on weekends and during holiday periods.
Ice House Gift Shop: Open daily, but if you can't make it in, you can now view King Pine logo wear, soft goods and more and order via email or by phone for curb-side pick-up or pay to have shipped to your home. Visit kingpine.com/ice-house-retail-shop for more info and links.
The "Back Shop": It's that time of year when your gear needs some love and our "Back Shop" is ready to provide all the ski & snowboard tuning services, repairs or binding mount needs you may have. Visit the "Back Shop" page for rates and info.
Pine Cone Cafe: Closed today and Tuesday as we exercise necessary caution and respond appropriately to having been informed of a recent positive COVID test result among a team member. We are following established company response policy that takes into account the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) guidelines and taking appropriate measures with any other staff that may have been in close contact. In addition to extensive cleaning of the contained kitchen and protected to-go order pick-up area, our Food & Beverage teams adhere daily to state COVID-19 guidance for the food service industry and perform a thorough deep cleaning and sterilization daily with all high frequency touch surfaces. This season, we have also had additional team members regularly cleaning seating areas in the base lodge. The safety of our teams and guests remains a priority and we will continue to implement and work to try and have everyone adhere to the many COVID-related responsibilities and requirements posted on our website: kingpine.com/current-covid-operating-information
Trail's End Tavern: Due to our desire to remain operating for outdoor winter fun activities this season, we have made the decision to close The Trail's End Tavern until further notice. Despite the best efforts of our bar manager and his team and their hard work to operate to all state and CDC guidelines and requirements, we feel it is the right decision to minimize the potential for COVID exposure among guests and staff in this single environment. We will continue to monitor current events and recommendations to consider opportunities to reopen again this season, but we do not currently have a date set for that.
Ski, Stay and Play - Available slopeside ski-in/out accommodations as well as nearby lakeside rooms at Purity Spring Resort.
